Be the difference
In a world where there is loss of hope. Be the source of hope. In a world where love is scarce. Be the source of love. Be the source of kindness. Be the light of the world.
This can be hard especially when you are not okay yourself. I mean if you feel hopeless, I don't see how you would bring hope to someone else. Or if you have been betrayed by many and left with a broken heart, it can be hard to love and to live in love.
Kindness too can be hard if you constantly meet rude people, or come from a place where you feel unappreciated, I guess the default would be for you to become rude or even close up on people who want to be kind to you.
I say it like a joke these days that life is a scam, that human beings are embarrassing or that I shouldn't expect anything good from anyone to protect myself from all the hurt that comes with it. And maybe I am right, people have the ability to hurt, to be rude and to disappoint. But this should by no means change how I choose to show up in this world.
I am learning now that I do not have control over how people treat me. Someone can choose to love me, to be kind to me or to give me hope. The opposite is also true. And should be accepted. But I am not in control of other people. The only person I have control over is me. So I can choose to love in a world that is often driven by hate, I can choose to be hopeful even when everything signals hopelessness, I can choose to be kind even when I am constantly confronted with rudeness.
The world is in need of love. The world is in need of hope, of kindness and of light. Be the love, be the hope, be the kindness, be the light. You can make a difference. I know it sometimes feels like your effort does not amount to anything really, but it does.
Your love can light up the world. Love.
Your hope can change someone's life. Be hopeful.
Your sweet words can keep someone alive. Be kind.
Your light can shine through the valleys of grief, loss and death. Be the light.
Welcome to Space of thoughts, I hope we learn from each other and grow together.
